Not only is the Riva 100 Corsaro the famed Italian builder’s newest big yacht, but she’s also a new flying-bridge boat. It’s a style the brand features more prevalently in its smaller models.
While Riva is only just now releasing details of the model, hull number one has been in build, for an Asian owner, for many months. She’s set to debut at an event for Riva clients in September in Monaco, just prior to appearing at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
Measuring 98 feet (just shy of 30 meters), the 100 Corsaro is semi-custom. As such, the flying bridge can offer alfresco dining accompanied by a bar, plus loose lounges and other furnishings. A second helm and hardtop are the fixed features up here.
Options continue inside, in a choice of total number of staterooms and their configurations. The owner of hull number one selected a three-stateroom layout, where all cabins are below decks. Within it, the master is full beam aft. Riva considers the alternate layout the standard one: four guest cabins below and the master on the main deck, full beam as well. (Due to the relocation of the master stateroom, hull number one has a media room/karaoke lounge forward on the main deck.) Regardless of stateroom selection, the 100 Corsaro places two crew cabins and the captain’s cabin forward below decks.
Speaking of crew, Riva dedicates the starboard side of the 100 Corsaro to their passageways on the main deck and flying bridge. It all starts forward of the saloon/dining area. A lobby leads to the galley (thankfully on the main deck) and a stairway down to their cabins and up to the helm. There’s additionally side-deck access for docking and other maneuvers. The owner and guests get the port side of the yacht for their access points. They additionally get a sliding glass door outboard of the dining area. While there’s no drop-down balcony, the open-air nature is a nice bonus for the 100 Corsaro.
So, too, is the beach club, doubling as a tender garage. The Ferretti Group says it has patented a garage door system to aid in both toy launching and retrieval plus the beach club’s creation. When the door opens, it tilts down to align with the fixed swim platform. Together, the two then lower into the water, allowing the garage to flood or the crew to easier offload a primary tender and/or PWC. (The maximum tender size: 14’6”, or 4.45 meters.) The crew can then adjust the height of the enlarged platform for the beach club and related watersports activities.
In true Riva fashion, the 100 Corsaro promises swift speeds. Two MTU packages promise cruising speeds between 24½ and 27½ knots. Top end should be between 25 and 29 knots.
