With 7,100 square feet (659.6 square meters) of livable space inside and in the open air, a new Crescent Custom Yachts superyacht has significant space for her size. More importantly, the CCY110 yacht is the builder’s first catamaran, plus is in build as its first spec project.

“It offers the amenities of our 45-meter monohull within a 33.5-meter platform,” says Tim Charles, president of Crescent Custom Yachts. The 45-meter he references is the yacht Legacy, in build for delivery next year. (LOA: 45.83 meters/150 feet.) Although a catamaran is a change for the Canadian yard, megayacht multihulls continue to attract buyers for their space benefits. The broader beam especially is attractive, creating expansive spaces for relaxation and entertainment. To that end, the CCY110 yacht has a 36-foot (10.97-meter) beam and an overall interior volume of 400 gross tons.

The CCY110 yacht features naval architecture by Greg Marshall’s design studio. Having worked with Crescent Custom Yachts previously as well as other North American builders, Marshall has a good grasp of what today’s buyers want. “There is growing demand for yachts that can be built more efficiently without compromising quality or capability,” he explains. This is why, he continues, the superyacht steers clear of operational complexity and prioritizes practical goals. For example, the hulls are shallow enough for owners to spend time in Floridian and/or Bahamian waters.

With six staterooms, the CCY110 yacht additionally bears design by Joe Lazzara. The third-generation yacht builder and designer says he’s emphasizing family- and friend-centered spaces. “The way owners use their yachts continues to evolve,” he notes, which helps explain why the beach club is the main social area. Encompassing 1,500 square feet (139.35 square meters), it’s not a typical water’s-edge lounge. Instead, it’s a combination show kitchen, wellness retreat, lounge, and outdoor-activity area. Highlights include a teppanyaki grill, a plunge pool, and a sauna. Of course, owners and guests can slip into the sea for a swim, too.

The aluminum hull and deck are currently under construction, affording buyers wide latitude for tailoring interior design and technical systems. “Building our first hull on spec demonstrates our confidence in the concept,” Charles says. Crescent Custom Yachts will have further information available at the Fort Lauderdale boat show in October.
