They really know how to launch a yacht with fanfare at Italy-based CRN: While white confetti burst into the sky and the late Luciano Pavarotti’s stirring recording of “Nessun Dorma” resonated through the air, Maraya slipped into the water. Not only that, but the shipyard opened the early-September event to the entire town of Ancona, as is its tradition.
The 54.2-meter (178-foot) megayacht represents hull number 121 for CRN. She features accommodations for ten guests in three VIP staterooms (one on the upper deck) and two twin cabins. Of course, the best is reserved for the owner. The master suite contains an “emperor” bed, measuring 2.5 meters x 2.2 meters (eight feet by seven feet), plus a balcony on the starboard side that forms when a hatch lowers 90 degrees, ideal for enjoying breakfast or just the view.
Everyone will have plenty of time to enjoy that view, given that Maraya is expected to cruise at a leisurely 14 knots, thanks to twin Caterpillar 3512B engines. They’ll also have an assortment of terrific toys to choose from, including radio-controlled Laser racing dinghies.
Maraya is being delivered in January and will be available for charter as part of the Camper and Nicholsons’ fleet shortly thereafter. She’ll be based in the Caribbean in winter and the western Med in summertime for up to €300,000 per week (about $408,000 per week).
