You know an owner is happy when, on launch day, he says, “Congratulations! You have passed every test.” These were among the comments the owner of Geco had for the craftspeople and management team at The Italian Sea Group on June 4, when she launched.
The 181”1” (55.2-meter) megayacht is part of the S-Force series from the Admiral Yachts brand of the Group. Styling and interior design come from the shipyard’s own design offices. With accommodations for 12 and a crew of 13, Geco will take not only her owner’s family on cruises, but also charter guests. In fact, Geco intends to charter in the Med starting in a few short weeks.
Because watertoys are a huge part of the charter experience, the yacht has plenty from which to choose. Even so, though, Geco will be the envy of other charter yachts. Take, for instance, her handful of transparent kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and inflatable watertoys. Then add in her PWCs, a Flyboard, a wakeboard, waterskiis, plus dive and snorkeling gear. When guests are done playing on the waterbikes, they have an inflatable dock to pull into. Not only that, but Geco’s crew can set up an inflatable waterslide and climbing wall.
Top all these off with Khaleesi, an Evo 43 chase boat. The tender can take people to a nearby beach to enjoy the day, for example. Alternately, the tender can take them out for fast, fun trips solo. She’s capable of a 30-knot cruise and 40-knot top end.
Geco herself, of course, shouldn’t disappoint. Every deck arrangement reflects thoughtful emphasis on socializing. All staterooms lie off the main-deck foyer (which includes a glass-walled stairway for aesthetic appeal). Friends and family can dine at the water’s edge, literally, due to a dining table for six in the beach club. An outdoor cinema makes evenings under the stars more fun. The sundeck’s pool and gym, meanwhile, will get good use, too.
Amid all the rooms outfitted with leathers, light-tone woods, and subdued-color furnishings, though, the Budda Bar surely will beckon. Situated on the upper deck, this relaxing, come-together spot is in proximity to the upper-deck lounge.
At the launch, the owner further called Geco “an exceptional yacht” and thanked the shipyard staff for their efforts, particularly in light of COVID-19 challenges. “The whole Admiral team has demonstrated a very high level of professionalism, commitment to their client, and self-sacrifice, in order to deliver on time Geco,” he said.
