Pendennis and Ron Holland are well-known names in sailing circles, so imaging how the real yacht sketched above will look when she starts construction early next spring. She’s a 46-meter (150’9″) performance cruising ketch, due for launch two years from now.
Holland, who’s responsible for sailing beauties such as Mirabella V and Felicita West, says that the client requested classic yachting style be paired with the latest performance technology. The megayacht will include accommodations for 12 people, in three guest staterooms and the owner’s suite. There will also be a study. Four cabins will house eight crew.
Duane MacPhail, the owner’s representative and a broker with Palm Beach Yachts, says, “We have chosen Pendennis because of their fine history and experience in the superyacht industry. We have been delighted with the project progress so far and look forward to working with the designers and engineers throughout the building phase.”
Other than the draft being 3.8 meters (12’5″) with the keel up and her beam being 9.5 meters (31’2″), no other details have been revealed. But it’s worth noting this marks a repeat collaboration between Holland and Pendennis. BooToo, a 27-meter (approximately 90-foot) ketch that’s been chartering (and is available for sale), launched in 2002.
