Over the past decade, Benetti has been offering three semi-custom ranges, under the Classic, Tradition, and Vision series names. Because of the cost advantages to both the yard and buyer, Benetti has decided to expand the offerings. But the management team isn’t simply adding new models. It has gone back to the drawing boards, literally, for the existing ranges and united them with soon-to-debut sizes under a new family fleet, called Benetti Class.
Benetti Class now encompasses models from 90 to 164 feet – specifically, the Delfino 90, Tradition 105, Classic 121, Classic Supreme 131, Crystal 140, Vision 145, and Vision Supreme 164. Stefano Righini, who has styled every semi-custom Benetti and many of its fully custom projects, has given each Benetti Class member wide swaths of windows and greatly flared bows. New interior layouts from different designers, including fold-down balconies, are also being offered, as is BEST (Benetti’s Exclusive Sea Technology), an integrated control system for entertainment, safety, and navigation information.
The first model to launch will be the Delfino 90, pictured above, coming next summer. The model name holds particular significance, as “Delfino” was the first motoryacht the yard premiered at the Genoa boat show in 1969. The all-fiberglass yacht will have a nearly 23-foot beam, which should translate into spacious accommodations for the on-deck master and four guest staterooms (two being VIPs) below decks. Galeazzi Studio has also created two decor packages from which to choose, modern and classic. As for performance, a 14-knot top end is expected thanks to twin Caterpillar C18s. The yacht will be built to RINA specifications as well.
The Tradition 105, pictured here, will also debut next summer. She’s to be built of fiberglass and to feature the stateroom setup of the Delfino 90. But the Tradition will have two decor packages from François Zuretti as well as a half-length sundeck, fitted with a Jacuzzi and large sunpads. Leisurely cruising at a maximum 15 knots should come from the same Caterpillar package as the Delfino. She’ll also meet ABS and MCA regulatory requirements.
The rest of the models will roll out between spring of 2011 and summer of 2013. More details on their features and specifications as they become available.
