Following talks with an American client interested in its megayacht catamarans, Curvelle is now offering the Quaranta Plus USA model, a yacht which despite her name may just have broader international appeal.
The Quaranta Plus USA model measures 118’1” (36 meters), a little longer than the initial Quaranta LOA of 110’6” (33.7 meters). She bears the same catamaran styling as the first Quaranta, too, though with a bit shallower draft for Bahamian and other skinny-water cruising. The main difference comes in the general arrangement. There’s now a country kitchen and an enclosed skylounge and helm, all on the same deck. It’s what Curvelle calls the saloon deck, a.k.a. the upper deck.
Given that American megayacht owners tend to enjoy country kitchens, the “USA” part of “Quaranta Plus USA” makes sense. Interesting enough, according to Kevin Ralph, the North American representative for Curvelle, the team is actually rebranding the new model as the Quaranta Plus Skylounge. That name more readily reflects the overall design highlights and might just attract interest from non-Americans, too.
Regardless, even with the country kitchen, which is rimmed with windows, the Quaranta Plus megayacht model will also have alfresco dining on the foredeck. A bimini can provide shade when wanted. Since the galley on the initial Quaranta megayacht is in the port hull, that space aboard the Quaranta Plus increases usable area for crew. Some owners may want to add a crew cabin, for example, allowing the captain’s cabin to occupy its own area in the opposite hull.
Otherwise the Quaranta Plus boasts the benefits of the other megayacht catamaran model, with all four guest staterooms joining the master stateroom (above) on deck. The master can additionally feature an office and a gym or spa.
In related Curvelle news, the first Quaranta catamaran should launch within the next several days.
