Having enjoyed the build process with Trinity Yachts previously on a few megayachts, a couple has returned to the shipyard for a new 193-footer (59-meter). The project is being referred to only by her hull number for now, T-062.
The all-aluminum megayacht will be built at Trinity Yachts’ New Orleans facility, rather than its Gulfport, Mississippi site. The Gulfport yard has taken on a number of commercial projects in recent years, where as the New Orleans yard is solely focused on yachts. Similar to the owners’ previous yacht, T-062 will have Bahamian-water-friendly draft, 8 feet (2.4 meters) at half load. The megayacht should also see a 19-knot top end, powered by twin 3,386-hp Caterpillar diesels. Since the owners of T-062 intend to cruise both sides of the Atlantic, range should be 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Trinity’s in-house naval architect, Geoff van Aller, has styled the trideck T-062, as is customary, incorporating a good deal of ideas from the owners. While the interior designer’s identity isn’t being revealed for now, the studio is the same one the owners collaborated with previously. The megayacht will have accommodations for an owner’s party of 12, plus 14 crew. The 33’5” (10.2-meter) beam should translate to comfortable spaces throughout T-062. Some of these spaces will follow popular trends, like a transom garage that doubles as a beach club when the Nouvurania tender is offloaded. (Considering that tender can carry all 12 in the owner’s party, it’s going to be a good-size garage.) The space directly above on the main aft deck is to be air-conditioned. It will also be raised, an arrangement found on other Trinity 33-foot-beam-series megayachts, with Mi Sueño being the first. T-062 will additionally have a spa at the disposal of guests below decks, and sliding glass doors will block wind when needed on the sundeck. In an interesting arrangement for crew cabins, two of them will be aft, with the remaining four forward. The captain’s stateroom will be aft of the pilothouse, a customary location. Of course, all crew will have dedicated stairways throughout the yacht.
Delivery of T-062 is expected in 2015. She’ll be strictly for private use, classed to ABS and meeting MCA requirements for yachts exceeding 500 international gross tons.
