Project Firefly, the first Mulder 94 Voyager, is a few short months from delivery. The megayacht’s hull and superstructure were just joined this week.
The all-aluminum, 93’10” (28.65-meter) Mulder 94 Voyager is fully custom. Naval architecture is by Vripack, while styling and interior design are from Omega Architects. The hull of the 22’6” (6.9 meters) beam yacht arrived at Mulder’s site in September. Construction on Project Firefly’s superstructure started the same month.
The slideshow here shows how the two key components of the Mulder 94 Voyager were maneuvered and then attached. Note the nice bow flare, the sporty superstructure, and how they complement one another. Imagine how she’ll look cruising at a reported 15-knot speed. Maximum speed should be 18 knots. (That’s a slight adjustment compared to the originally planned 20 knots.) The twin 1,150-hp Caterpillar C18s powering her are already installed.
The next step for the Mulder 94 Voyager: receiving her interior. The shipyard expects to install the lower-deck arrangements in a few weeks. Many megayacht builders have furnishings and other features made simultaneously with structural components. It’s a big time saver. Mulder has its own interior department, which allows further control. That department will soon start the rest of the Mulder 94 Voyager interior elements.
As for that interior, it’s modern in looks. Wood soles flow throughout the main deck. The combination saloon and dining area occupy nearly 431 square feet (40 square meters). The Mulder 94 Voyager will also have good headroom, 7’2” (2.2 meters). That should make the master, two guest staterooms, and VIP feel quite accommodating. On a related note, the master suite will measure 258 square feet (24 square meters).
Wherever they spend their time aboard, guests should especially appreciate the long voyages for which the Mulder 94 Voyager is intended. Mulder is anticipating a 3,600-nautical-mile range at 10 knots.
Project Firefly, being built to RINA classification, will be delivered next summer.
