With styling by Andrea Vallicelli and interior design by Patrick Knowles Designs, Kolaha was meant to turn heads. Kolaha was delivered by ISA Yachts in 2010, measuring 206’7” (63 meters). Her owner didn’t want much publicity at the time. In fact, when his megayacht, the first ISA 630, was launched, he requested that her name be kept confidential. Since that time, Kolaha has cruised around a few popular yachting ports.
The owner and his family reportedly wanted Kolaha to make them feel as if they were on vacation every day they spent onboard. To that end, the megayacht reflects a tropical ambiance. In fact, Patrick Knowles of Patrick Knowles Designs described it at the time as having Key West flair. There are hand-painted murals of leafy-green scenes, for example. Kolaha also makes good use of natural materials such as bamboo, palm wood, and coconut shell. The decor is quite colorful, too. Given the 39-foot (12-meter) beam, Kolaha is plenty comfortable.
Alfresco areas aboard Kolaha are meant to make the owner and his family want to lounge and linger. They can choose from a pool and sunpads on the sundeck, for example, plus a panoramic seating area aft. A few dining areas, some that can be shaded, are outside as well. Of course, Kolaha further has a beach club, a trend that was just catching on when she was in build. It’s formed when the toys kept in the tender garage are in the water.
Kolaha was engineered for a 15-knot cruise thanks to twin Caterpillar power. Her moonstone-tone hull and white superstructure are just enough to catch your attention and keep it, regardless of whatever speed at which she travels.
