The flagship of Oyster Yachts, the Oyster 125 is a sailing superyacht meant for adventure. The person who commissioned hull number one, christened Twilight, certainly knows all about that. He has had more than 1,000 yachts to his name so far. He wanted the Oyster 125 to be equal parts high performance and high style. Dubois Naval Architects took care of the performance part, ensuring she’d be both swift and steady. This video gives you an ever-so-brief look at the sloop-rigged Oyster 125 under full sail. LOA is 125 feet (38.14 meters), with a 29’4” (8.95-meter) beam.
As for style, the Oyster 125 is the first flybridge-equipped sailing yacht of less than 160 feet (48 meters). Dubois Naval Architects has had a hand in a number of those large flybridge cruisers. So, it was only natural that the experienced design team help Oyster Yachts make inroads into this smaller size. The two companies also ensured the Oyster 125 would look right. She uses the same superstructure as the raised-saloon models, topped by a deck with twin helms, a lounging area, and sunning space.
The Oyster 125 also has an interior by Rhoades Young Design. The designers have previously collaborated with Oyster Yachts on a number of models. Eight people in the owner’s party can enjoy all-around views in the upper saloon. A 3-D television and theater-like sound provide entertainment here. The Oyster 125 is more likely to lure people up to her flying bridge, however, for lunch or cocktails, even simply to enjoy a day’s cruise. The aft cockpit invites them to indulge in the same. Come evening, two queen staterooms and a twin stateroom lure guests for a good night’s sleep. The queen cabins have beds pushed together that can also be split apart, for flexibility.
