Turkey-based Esenyacht is promoting its first motoryacht to entice a buyer. Called Project Taurus, she’s 164 feet (50 meters) of swift speed and creative convertible spaces.
Esenyacht, which thus far has delivered the 118-foot (38-meter) cruising ketch Glorious, plans to build Project Taurus out of fiberglass. That will allow a triple-engine propulsion system of choice to push her to an expected 30 knots. If you’re not in a hurry, of course, more modest speeds should permit transatlantic range (though Ensenyacht has not specified the exact figures).
While Project Taurus has expected features like a main-deck master and five staterooms below decks for guests, there are notable differences. Take a close look at the main deck in the image below. Sets of the floor-to-ceiling windows to each side of the saloon, itself a massive area, slide back. Imagine sitting there, with the natural breezes flowing straight through. Project Taurus effectively focuses your attention more on the outside than the inside with this arrangement. It’s thanks to Mannerfelt Design Team collaborating with Esenyacht. The design studio has extensive experience in racing yachts, production boats, and the automotive industry.
While the saloon occupies a large footprint aboard Project Taurus, so, too, does the master suite. It’s nearly 1,055 square feet (98 square meters). That doesn’t include the 269-square-foot (25-square-meter) private alfresco area.
Understandably, Esenyacht and Mannerfelt Design Team are inviting the owners to arrange the interior and decor as they so wish. They do have suggested layouts, though, with five equal-size guest staterooms just forward of the engine room and tender garage. The layouts also show 10 crew housed below decks and the captain accommodated aft of the helm. Since few buyers eschew hot tubs or pools, Project Taurus also can include a pool on the sundeck.
Regardless of layout, much of Project Taurus can be constructed in house at Esenyacht. The builder prefers keeping most trades under its roof.
