Sunseeker started mixing megayachts into its offerings in 1998. Fast forward 16 years, and its 155 Yacht, the flagship, has made it the only production boatbuilder with models from 40 to 155 feet (12.2 to 47.25 meters) under a single brand. Further unusual, as proven by Blush, the first 155 Yacht, Sunseeker offers buyers the ability to change styling as well as interior arrangement and design.
Blush’s owner, the BBC’s Formula 1 commentator (and perennial Sunseeker buyer) Eddie Jordan, requested an ice-blue hull color. He also has a beach club to enjoy with guests, but it’s a little different than you’d expect. Blush has a permanent, teak-laid cockpit that doubles as the beach club when just part of the transom folds down. Sliders just aft reveal an intimate indoor seating area with a TV and a bar. It’s a cozy room because it abuts the tender garage, where the toys launch to starboard—and wouldn’t you want to spend more of your time outside anyway? Jordan has two PWCs aboard, too, stowed on the foredeck near a small sunpad.
Sliding doors also flank the sky lounge to each side aboard the 155 Yacht, leading out to fold-down balconies. Another fold-down balcony is one deck below, off the starboard side of the saloon, which further features a bar. The beam on both levels (30’6” maximum, or 9.34 meters) feels all the larger due to the alfresco areas and tones of ice blue and aqua, the latter carried throughout Blush.
Surely most, if not all, buyers of the 155 Yacht will do what Jordan did: situate the master suite full beam on the main deck. This lets them take advantage of yet another balcony, a fixed one, to starboard. It’s large enough for two seats and a table to remain in place, ideal for morning coffee in privacy. Jordan requested that Blush’s balcony have opening ports. Because the suite is full beam, though, the side decks do not continue past it.
The two VIP staterooms aboard Jordan’s 155 Yacht must be for Very Important People indeed, since they’re on the main deck. They benefit from the split-window design to each side. Blush has two additional guest staterooms below decks, one twin and one double. Four ports in each brighten those rooms. Future 155 Yacht buyers can request whatever bed configurations they wish. Regardless, all 10 crewmembers are housed forward on the lower deck, ahead of the galley. (Pantries are on each upper level, connected via dumbwaiters.) The captain gets a private cabin just aft of the wheelhouse.
Long, sunny days can be spent soaking up rays or soaking in the hot tub here on the flying bridge. The sunpads flanking the hot tub are just visible in the foreground, while loose lounges sit fully aft. The 155 Yacht also comes with a hardtop that provides welcome shade to the dining areas and the bar.
In true Sunseeker tradition, the all-fiberglass 155 Yacht was engineered for performance. She hits a reported 22-knot top speed thanks to twin MTUs. With speed reduced several knots, the 155 Yacht should achieve a 4,000-nautical-mile range. Also in true Sunseeker fashion, and made easier due to her LOA, the 155 Yacht has a good deal of outdoor areas. These include a foredeck seating and dining spot. With another 155 in build, three contracts for the new 131 Yacht, and a 168 Sport Yacht in development, the UK yard is intent on keeping clients in the performance family for years to come.
