While sea trials have not yet begun, the first Sunseeker 155 Yacht was lowered into the water today. The move comes a few weeks after she emerged from her build shed, without her hardtop due to space restrictions inside. The largest megayacht in Sunseeker’s history, being christened Blush, is undergoing the first series of systems tests, for everything from engines to air conditioning.
It’s been well publicized, by both Sunseeker and the international media, that the owner of this first Sunseeker 155 Yacht is Eddie Jordan. He’s perhaps equally known for his Formula 1 racing history and current role as a commentator as he is for being a repeat Sunseeker owner. Jordan, like subsequent Sunseeker 155 Yacht buyers, was given a good deal of input into her layout and design. That includes the superstructure. It’s an unusual opportunity for a megayacht offered as a series build.
It’s tough to discern in the photos released to date, but Blush has an ice-blue hull. The color blue is carried throughout the rest of the megayacht, too, along with other tones of aqua, green, and gray. The Sunseeker 155 Yacht caters to 12 guests, with three staterooms on the main deck. One of these, of course, is the master suite. The others are VIP staterooms, with floor-to-ceiling ports, a nice touch. The master has its own nice touch: a fold-down balcony. Two additional balconies are situated adjacent to the formal dining area on the main deck.
A crew of 10 are housed forward below decks aboard, with the captain getting a private cabin just aft of the wheelhouse. That same deck has a skylounge that’s expected to host a good deal of entertaining.
The technical tests of the Sunseeker 155 Yacht should wrap up this week. She’s expected to see a 22-knot top speed during sea trials, powered by twin MTUs. Those sea trials should occur within the next week. Blush, built to RINA commercial class and MCA LY2 standards, is still set for delivery this spring.
