Though she was delivered just three years ago, Nirvana, like all megayachts, started construction much earlier. Her steel hull arrived at Oceanco from a subcontractor in late 2009, for example.
Measuring 290 feet (88.5 meters), Nirvana has unmistakable lines penned by Sam Sorgiovanni Designs. Making them particularly eye-catching is the faux teak caprail sweeping down from her bow to her transom. Unless you’re right up close to Nirvana, you have no idea that it’s an intricate paint job mimicking wood. (A similar design element debuted aboard another Oceanco built prior to Nirvana, that being Anastasia.)
Photographed here at the 2014 Dubai International Boat Show, Nirvana headed to the Middle East last year to further entice interest in her, since she’s for sale, and in Oceanco’s abilities. Among the stand-out features aboard the yacht: an owners’ deck with a private hot tub; a movie theater; and best of all, two vivariums, which are indoor spaces replicating the natural environment for animals and plant life. The ones aboard Nirvana are home to water dragons, turtles, bearded lizards, and more creatures. They’re used as partitions between the saloon, dining room, and sitting room/massage room.
