UPDATE, NOVEMBER 20, 2015: Lady Lara has been delivered to her owners. Read on for our original article about her.
In a few short weeks, Lady Lara, previously referred to as Project Orchid, will be handed over by Lürssen. While the yard hasn’t revealed her name, the megayacht has been broadcasting it via AIS. Lürssen has, however, confirmed sea trials have completed. A few yacht spotters got a good look at Lady Lara, measuring 299 feet (91 meters), heading to and from those sea trials, too.
With styling and interior design by Reymond Langton Design, Lady Lara mixes strong and soft lines outside. Though the photos here don’t reveal it, Lürssen says the way light falls during the day lends ever-changing appearances to Lady Lara’s superstructure.

Since Lady Lara is being used for private trips vs. charter, few other details have been divulged by Lürssen. The megayacht, with a 47-foot (14.35-meter) beam, has a handful of alfresco areas as you’d expect, with some shaded and some not. Depending on where they’re located, some serve casual entertainment purposes, while others are for formal affairs.
Regardless, the owners and invited guests will get a chance to use them when Lady Lara heads off to Norway for her maiden cruise. The owners will further cruise this side of the pond in the winter months, specifically Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean.
