Add another Superconero model to the megayachts being built at CRN. The Italian shipyard recently signed a contract for a 164-foot (50-meter) version of the semi-custom series. She marks the third Superconero inked since the series was announced in 2014.
As a reminder, the Superconero series pays homage to the name of the first large-yacht series that CRN ever built: Super Conero. Created in the late 1970s, the Super Conero yachts were quite big for their time, 75’5” (23 meters). On a related note, “Conero” echoed the name of a region near CRN’s headquarters in Ancona, Italy.
The new Superconero series can come in a variety of LOAs. Like the two slightly smaller Superconeros in build, this one features naval architecture by CRN’s in-house team with Studio Zuccon International Project and will meet RINA classification. Creature comforts include a beach club, a fixed balcony off the owners’ suite, and a float-in tender garage akin to the one on CRN’s J’Ade.
CRN has not disclosed details about the interior designer or decor. However, the Superconero series was developed to have accommodations for 10 in the owners’ party. Performance-wise, she will feature Caterpillar power, for a top end of 15 knots. Best range should be 3,800 nautical miles, according to CRN, at 11 knots. And, of course, the Superconero will fall beneath the 500-gross-ton level, a key consideration for owners when it comes to regulations.
Though a delivery date hasn’t been announced, it’s safe to bet this CRN Superconero will be ready in 2017.
