Six years after its founding, Filippetti Yacht has changed the nomenclature of its motoryacht models, to reflect current buying trends. It’s also expanding those models.
Filippetti Yacht was established by Fausto Filippetti, one of the three founders of Pershing Yachts. He and his children Giovanni and Martina continue to oversee the shipyard, in Mondolfo, Italy. From the start, a limited number of motoryachts have been built, each tailored to owners’ tastes. Those motoryachts are now grouped into one of three series, each intuitively named. Specifically, they are F series, signifying flying-bridge boats; S series, signifying sport models; and N neries, meaning navetta, or traditional displacement cruiser.
The F series includes three models, the F76, F93, and F98, each so-named for their LOA in feet. All are designed by Fulvio De Simoni, who’s also the designer of record for the successful string of Pershing yachts over the years. The F93 is the newest of the series, with hull number one sold and in build.
As for the S series, think sleek, aggressive styling and swift speed. How swift? The Filippetti S75 (75 feet), designed by Luiz de Basto Designs, is capable of a reported 55 knots, with twin 1,823-hp MTUs. She’s the largest in the series, which starts at 53 feet. The S75 accommodates six in the owners’ party.
Finally, the N Series is currently comprised of two models, the N26 and N30, each of which have garnered contracts in recent years. At 85 feet and 98 feet, respectively, the N26 and N30 (named for their LOAs in meters) bear design by Pietro Mingarelli. Filippetti Yacht will have an N30 (pictured) exhibited at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
Speaking of the Cannes show, Fausto and Giovanni Filippetti will further host informal cocktails aboard the N30 each evening with current and potential customers. The builder also plans to reveal details about new models being added overall. These include the Filippetti N35, measuring 114’8″ (35 meters), the largest in the N series. She’ll feature five staterooms and bear design by Hot Lab Yacht & Design. We’ll have additional details on the new yacht once they’re fully available.
