Some tenders are intended for tranquil transport of guests to and from shore. Those of you seeking more thrills might want to check out the 10DER from X-Craft.
X-Craft offers models from 18 to 33 feet (5.5 to 10 meters), with the 10DER being that latter LOA. The deep-V hull is by Adam Younger Design, which has experience in offshore powerboats, raceboats, RIBs, and more. That in turn means the boat is intended to perform well and stay dry even in some sloppy conditions. X-Craft says that regardless of twin inboard or twin stern drive propulsion, the 10DER can exceed 45 knots. That’s plenty for swift spins along a shoreline or among islands, plus towing water-skiers.
For styling and arrangement, X-Craft turned to Van Geest Design. The sharp, somewhat aggressive looks complement the tender’s turn of speed. The looks are further clean and simple, suiting the need to take a number of passengers for varying trips. Twelve guests can spread out on a handful of seating spots, including a U-shape area fully forward. Two crewmembers take care of driving and helping everyone enter and exit safely.
Bearing a beam of 9’2” (2.85 meters), X-Craft’s 10DER can be tailored to suit your tastes. Want its hull color to match that of your yacht? No problem. Helm electronics, deck materials, and more are open to choice, too. You can even have three PC-like screens display all instrument data, versus individual navigation and communication instruments. Regardless, X-Craft makes wiring checks easy thanks to a transparent, watertight compartment within the steering console. And, spare parts are always provided for all equipment. Many items are designed and made in-house, too.
