While the super-size superyacht sector has grown exponentially, there still are far fewer yachts on the water in comparison to the “smaller” end of the market. Concept designs are therefore increasingly helping spur clients’ imaginations. To that end, Nobiskrug has partnered with Claydon Reeves to raise the profile of the design studio’s Radiance.
Measuring 360’9” (110 meters), Radiance was initially designed by Claydon Reeves four years ago, for a specific client. He wanted abundant, voluminous spaces inside and out for entertaining, plus a mix of classic yacht features and thoroughly modern ones. To the former, Radiance has gently sloping lines. Her plumb bow is both traditional and contemporary, too. Since Radiance didn’t come to fruition, and since her styling and accommodations still hold strong appeal, Nobiskrug and Claydon Reeves joined forces.
An assortment of balconies and fold-down platforms heighten enjoyment of the ocean atmosphere aboard Radiance. Four guest staterooms benefit from those balconies, for example, bringing the outside in to their already airy arrangement. While the two VIP staterooms don’t have balconies, they are no less desirable. Since they’re up on the owners’ deck aboard Radiance (with the owners getting the forward portion), imagine the delight Very Important People will have waking up to the views out the large windows.
Imagine, too, the delight of being welcomed into a two-deck-high saloon as you step inside. Claydon Reeves wanted a strong architectural impact for Radiance, not simply typical yacht design.
Even with these attractive features, the piece de resistance of Radiance is the pool so prominently featured on the aft deck. Rimmed with a glass wall aft, it spans about 43 feet (13 meters) of the length of the deck. Day or night, it’s sure to be the center of everyone’s attention.
Interested buyers can still, of course, customize Radiance to suit their preferences.
