Following our recent story on the Wider 165, a.k.a. project Cecilia, completing a significant step, we thought it compelling to show you just how this superyacht negotiated her way from her initial construction shed to her final fit-out area.
As you may recall from our article a few weeks ago, the all-aluminum yacht was moved because of height restrictions. The transfer took about two hours on October 26. Due to project Cecilia needing to travel over roadways, the process was performed at night.
The photo gallery here reveals the delicate process of maneuvering the partially completed structure into her new home for the next year. On a related note, that home was where the first Wider 150 had, just days before, departed. Juan Balaguer, COO of Wider, says, that “it was a little strange to see the main yard empty” once the 150 departed, but adds that “the yard is buzzing again with all the people.”
The last few images give you a hint as to what this first Wider 165 will look like upon completion. The decor will be light and bright, especially due to abundant large panes of glass and fold-down platforms. The one thing you don’t see, though, is how two terrific tender bays will be used. One, on the side of the yacht, will serve as a float-in garage for a personal submarine. (In fact, that sub largely dictated the LOA and design of project Cecilia.) The other, at the transom, is also a drive-in arrangement, for a Wider 32. When the tender is zipping about, that space becomes a swimming pool.
Project Cecilia will accommodate the owner’s party of 10 and a crew of 11.
