Even though she’s a year away from launch, Cecilia is already getting a facelift. This first Wider 165 has some new styling—and lifestyle—features coming aboard at her owner’s request.
You can see one of the changes in the rendering above. Cecilia now has an enclosable sundeck, with a hardtop. The idea is to make the space usable in varying weather. The glass that extends forward and to the sides can slide open, stacking neatly against the hardtop’s supports.
The other change: Cecilia has a new foredeck arrangement. A helipad now sits forward of the existing hot tub. Two tables and seating sections join the hot tub, too.
Wider was able to accommodate the changes because construction is still at a relatively early stage. The hull and superstructure joined together around the end of last year.
While not a different design, the interior of Cecilia has been kept private until now. Wider’s in-house team and IdeaeItalia are incorporating sanded oak, a mixture of marbles, and leathers. They’ll be showcased from Cecilia’s main-deck master, which has a balcony, to the four guest staterooms. The image below shows how travertine marble will lie underfoot in the saloon.
As a Wider 165, Cecilia has some similarities to her smaller sister, the Wider 150. Both feature fold-down platforms around the transom. Both also have a drive-in tender bay, suitable for a Wider 32 powerboat. When the tender is out and about, the bay can double as a pool. And, both have diesel-electric propulsion with battery banks. The propulsion system lets the megayachts operate solely on battery power, too, for zero-emission mode.
The above-mentioned tender bay, by the way, could alternately house a personal sub. For a hint of how the float-in, float-out operations work, check out the Wider 150:
