Patrizio Facheris, president of Facheris Design, may not be familiar to you. But he has a proven background in the yachting industry. That, plus a desire to provide modern megayacht buyers with eye-catching designs, led to the creation of the Aqueous 120 concept.
Patrizio Facheris’ experience in yachting dates back three decades. He worked directly for builders such as Donzi Marine, for example, and spent 13 years as chief designer for Michael Peters Yacht Design. Recently, Facheris Design provided styling for the new 60 Cantius from Cruisers Yachts.
The Aqueous 120 is a decided effort to incorporate even more glass and reflective surfaces, in keeping with current trends. Given her 394 feet (120 meters) of length, she certainly provides abundant opportunity. Facheris Design undertook computer modeling to determine the best hull shape and aerodynamic form. Naturally, interior areas become lighter and brighter as a result of the glass, strengthening the connection to the environment.
Speaking of the environment, the Aqueous 120 is planned as a hybrid-powered yacht. Facheris Design’s calculations estimate that quadruple 4,290-hp MTU 20V 4000 M73L engines as part of the hybrid system should permit a top speed of 20 knots, too. Add a fuel capacity of 71,591 gallons (271,000 liters), and the Aqueous 120 would be capable of reaching many a destination.
To make the journey enjoyable, the Aqueous 120 incorporates abundant relaxation areas within her 65’6” (20-meter) beam. It’s easy to see the main aft deck (above) being put to the most use. Guests could spend the day taking a dip in the infinity pool, drying off on a lounger, and then sipping refreshments at the bar. Facheris Design has even incorporated a retractable awning to provide shade when wanted. All told, 4,306 square feet (400 square meters) is devoted just to this area.
You and your guests, who’ll be accommodated in four VIPs, eight doubles, and six singles, will even be able to arrive in style. The sunpad toward the bow can convert into a helipad.
Facheris Design estimates that 42 crewmembers will be needed to take care of onboard operations, including deploying the limo tenders and other toys. It has not designed the yacht with a particular classification in mind, however, though of course the Aqueous 120 would meet international regulations for her magnitude.
