Island Gardens Deep Harbour, the megayacht marina and mixed-use development still under construction in Miami, has opened a new amenity. It’s The Deck at Island Gardens, an outdoor lounge for marina clients to enjoy dining and dancing.
While Island Gardens Deep Harbour opened in January, the rest of the planned features were not yet ready. The Deck at Island Gardens just opened last month. It lets you enjoy views of Miami’s skyline plus Biscayne Bay while enjoying meals, cocktails, and music, even waterfront yoga.
Mehmet Bayraktar, chairman and CEO of the marina’s developer, wanted to create a hotspot for superyacht guests plus Miami residents who like the yachting lifestyle. If you dock at any of the 50 superyacht slips, you can experience a different atmosphere on different days. Friday Night Dinner Parties, for example, kick off weekends. The menu contains yachting-destination-inspired meals (think foods from the South of France, and so on). Saturdays are nicknamed “WELLTH Saturdays,” for health and wellness events like the above-mentioned yoga. Occasional celebrity chefs will cook healthy foods, too. The Deck at Island Gardens becomes a brunch spot for celebs and superyacht clientele on Sundays. (Dennis Rodman, Ivana Trump, and others have reportedly shown up.) Toward evening and into the wee hours, it takes on a speakeasy atmosphere. You can nosh on Mediterranean-themed meals as you watch the sunset, then enjoy the stars.
Island Gardens’ plans to include hotels and residences are still in the works. So, too, are the creation of shops and restaurants plus a water taxi to take you to downtown Miami and the beaches. More than 60 percent of Island Gardens will be publicly accessible gardens, art installations, and a promenade.
