The Benetti Fast 125 megayacht line is catching on, with the builder delivering hulls two and three this month. They’re Constance Joy (above) and Skyler. And, as similar as series builds are, these two megayachts, plus the first 125, are quite different.
While Benetti originally called the series the Vivace 125, it changed “Vivace” to “Fast.” This reflects the fast-displacement hull design. Technically, Benetti calls it D2P, for Displacement to Planing. It incorporates a wavepiercing bow, and permits fuel-efficient cruising throughout the full speed range. Furthermore, the Benetti Fast 125 series has a Rolls-Royce azipull propulsion system. It employs steerable, azimuthing pulling propellers. They’re ideal for megayachts, plus other vessels, meant for speeds exceeding 20 knots. (The Fast 125s should top out around 22 knots.) They’re also helpful for docking and other close-quarters maneuvers.
While sharing a technical foundation, each Benetti Fast 125 offers creativity inside. Redman Whiteley Dixon created three decor packages, plus 15 layout configurations. The first delivery, Iron Man, was decidedly neutral, with shades of gray, black, and white throughout, including wood stains. The owner brought in an additional designer to execute the look. However, it still fits the Air decor package, characterized by a minimalist and modern approach. (The other two packages: Sea, with blue and green tones; and Land, with earth tones.) Interestingly, Skyler’s owner went the Air route, too. However, the colors are predominantly white and tan, except for the guest staterooms. In fact, each has a different color for its leather overheads, wall panels, and upholstery. The colors: aqua, acid green, blue, and lavender. High-gloss ebony, Thai wood, and Tanganyika appear throughout the decks. You can get a sneak peek in the video below.
While Benetti hasn’t revealed Constance Joy’s interior details, her bright-red hull hints at a distinct personality. As for Skyler, she has a more sedate, and traditional, all-white profile.
