Do you know how many days are in 16 to 17 months? The owner of Day’s might, since he expects to take delivery of the 223-foot (68-meter) at the end of next year.
Day’s is the first contract in an explorer series called the Ice Yachts range, from CCN Yachts. Not to be confused with the Italian builder CCN, CCN Yachts is a Turkish construction and management firm. It’s overseeing Day’s at AES Yacht, a Turkish shipyard that builds and refits megayachts.
Two experienced design partners are involved, too. Naval architecture is by Endaze Marine Engineering. Interior design is from Hot Lab Yacht & Design. Overall, the warm, minimalistic decor and full-height glass should enhance the voluminous megayacht. The five-deck Day’s has a gross tonnage of more than 1,800. Making her feel even more roomy, Antonio Romano of Hot Lab says headroom on the main and upper decks is nearly nine feet (2.7 meters). Furthermore, maximum beam is 42’7” (13 meters).
Imagine, then, the feeling the owner will experience in his suite. It’s the full upper deck aboard, with full-height glass rimming it. Besides the sleeping area forward, the suite includes a gym, a massage room, and two baths. Because he plans to work onboard sometimes, the sky lounge accommodates business meetings. For the same reasons, Day’s has private access to here from the tender garage.
Not everything is about work, though. Day’s has four guest staterooms on the main deck. (On a related note, for the owner’s benefit, AES Yacht created a mockup of one of the staterooms. It included the woods and other decor materials.) All get to use the beach club and the main-deck pool. A helipad makes arrivals and departures from anchorages simpler.
Also on the main deck: an extra cabin for a staff member. Crew, meanwhile, total 18 and have cabins below. As is customary, the captain’s cabin sits just aft of the wheelhouse.
Expect Day’s to see a top speed of 17 knots, powered by Caterpillar diesels.
