Good things come in threes. There’s the old saying of “the third time’s the charm,” for example. In addition, a few sports celebrate threes: Three goals in the same game by one player is a hat trick. Benetti celebrated a special three with the launch of Zehra on June 22. She’s the third Delfino 95 so far.
Even better, Zehra is the third launch from the megayacht brand in about the past six months. She slipped down the ways at Benetti’s Viareggio, Italy facility. That’s where fiberglass and “small” yacht production takes place.
As a Delfino 95, Zehra features fiberglass and carbon fiber construction. That keeps maintenance somewhat simplified, particularly attractive for buyers stepping up in size, while saving weight. Because she has a displacement hull, she’s meant for stretching her legs. Top speed should be 14½ knots with twin 1,000-hp MAN diesel engines. Best range should come at 10 knots: 2,400 nautical miles. Guests and/or the crew can scout nearby anchorages via the tender, a maximum of 14 feet (4.4 meters), which fits in the tender garage.
Judging from some of the special amenities the owner of Zehra requested, guests will have a good time onboard. Choice bottles of wine will accompany formal dinners in the dining area, thanks to a custom-designed wine “cellar.” It’s a 178-bottle-strong display in the main-deck foyer, between the dining area and the galley. Before retiring for bed, maybe the owner will invite one or two of them to enjoy a good smoke. He has a humidor in his suite, forward on the main deck.
The humidor might just be impressive to see, too. Usually, owners request a full-beam en suite head for their staterooms. (The Delfino 95 has a beam of 23 feet, or 7 meters.) For Zehra, though, the owner requested the head to the port side. To starboard, he has a walk-in wardrobe and adjacent cigar humidifier.
With four guest staterooms below decks and plenty of relaxation space on the sundeck, Zehra should see delivery before the end of the summer.
