While they took place at two different facilities, three megayachts recently launched at Sanlorenzo.
Two of the three splashed at Sanlorenzo’s Ameglia, Italy shipyard: Pioppi, an SL82, and B2 (pictured above), an SL94. Liliya (pictured below), a 40 Alloy, slipped into the water in Viareggio.
The owner of Pioppi, from Italy, was heavily involved in the design of the megayacht. He acted as his own interior designer and therefore personally picking out everything from canaletto walnut for paneling and soles to the varying fabrics and grey- and brown-toned marbles used throughout. While Sanlorenzo doesn’t say how the interior of Pioppi was configured, the SL82 is available with either three staterooms for the owner’s party or four, all below decks. Pioppi further carries her tender on the swim platform, freeing up the flying bridge for teak furnishings for the owner’s and guests’ use.
B2 is notable primarily for being RINA Green Plus Platinum compliant, a strict and fully voluntary environmental notation covering things like emissions, recyclable materials, and waste. The owner, from Russia, obviously also wanted a luxurious megayacht, so B2 features a fold-down balcony off the saloon, pickled and whitened oak, grey-toned marble, and more. Again, the number of staterooms wasn’t revealed, but the SL94 series allows up to eight people in the owner’s party.
Finally, Liliya bears some resemblances to her predecessors, such as the gullwing doors off the pilothouse and four fold-down balconies (two off the saloon and two off the main-deck master suite). But she bears a white hull, a departure from the silvery grey paint the seven prior megayachts in the Sanlorenzo 40 Alloy series have had. Liliya’s Russian owner had the rich-tone canaletto walnut and anigre woods treated with a pearly luster. He also mixed various marbles with the aptly named Coca Cola onyx, which has a color resembling soda. No details were released on the the number and configuration of staterooms, but in keeping with the semicustom nature of all Sanlorenzos, upwards of eight people can be accommodated aboard a 40 Alloy megayacht.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time that Sanlorenzo has had three launches in a short span. In 2011, Sanlorenzo launched three megayachts for three Russian owners, these being a 46 Steel, a 40 Alloy, and an SD122.
