Codecasa marked an important step in the build of its latest project this month. Hull F74, the simple reference by which the project is known for now, made the move into the final outfitting hall. She’ll remain there for the next year, then see delivery.
Encompassing five decks, and featuring steel and aluminum construction, Hull F74 is the fourth in the Codecasa 65 series. The Italian builder announced the project in April 2017. Work began on her at Codecasa’s facility in the Navicelli area in Pisa. On a related note, the builder began using that site in 2011. Even with four construction sites in Viareggio, and despite the global economic crisis at the time, Codecasa foresaw the need for more space. The Pisa site therefore primarily focuses on hull and superstructure construction, for projects to 262 feet (80 meters).
Just as happens with other superyachts started there, Codecasa Hull F74 transferred to Viareggio for fit out. This includes interior design. Although the builder has not revealed the design studio, Hull F74 is including further contributions from its own Style Department. In terms of layout, she accommodations 12 passengers. In addition, two of the staterooms are serving as owners’ suites.
Despite revealing these facts, Codecasa has not elaborated on woods, marbles, or the general ambiance of the project. Regardless, we do know that Hull F74 has a beam of 36’7” (11.2 meters), just like the series’ previous launches. Volume should be ample, too, around 950 gross tons. Sixteen crewmembers plus the captain are accommodated aboard as well.
When launch takes place, HullF74 should top out at 17 knots under light load. The twin Caterpillar engines should also allow her a healthy 5,000-nautical-mile range when dialed down to 12 knots.
Delivery is on pace for next summer. She’ll join the ranks of other Codecasa 65s like Double Down (ex-Lady Lau).
