Sacs Marine and Pirelli have taken their 20-year-plus partnership for head-turning maxi RIBs to another level. With the Pirelli 44 | Ducati Edition, they’ve created a limited series echoing the looks of a renowned superbike. Although they’re not yet disclosing speeds, they promise a thrilling ride as well.
Just unveiled this week at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the plans call for hull number one to debut in a few months. It will be the first of just 26 units available, a nod to Ducati’s founding in 1926. Because of this, it will show off special badging compared to the standard Pirelli 44, a 44-foot (13.5-meter) RIB.

SACS Marine, a.k.a. Sacs Tecnorib, makes the Pirelli Speedboats line with Mannerfelt Design Team. The full range focuses on walkaround, high-performance RIBs. That performance edge is immediately understood even at a quick glance. The tubes, for instance, have a distinctive tread pattern, from the Cinturato Blue Full Wet. This is the official Formula 1 tire from Pirelli for wet conditions, especially heavy rain and standing water. Similarly, the design repeats on the seats, where the Pirelli logo also appears.
As for the Pirelli 44 | Ducati Edition, the profile mimics the Ducati Spuerleggera V4 Centenario, an extreme road bike with MotoGP-derived engineering that commemorates Ducati’s century mark. Ducati’s own design team collaborated on the RIB’s looks. A carbon fiber hardtop, a black steel pack, and Alcantara dash and seats are among the features. Additionally, instead of the above-mentioned tread pattern, the tubes pay homage to the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires. They’re the street-legal high-performance tires that simultaneously suit track use. Not surprisingly, they’re the same tires on the Ducati Spuerleggera V4 Centenario. Pirelli’s R&D Centre is actually hand-carving the pattern, too.

The performance side comes from a dual-stepped hull from Mannerfelt Design Team and triple 500 Mercury Racing engines. Because the engines couldn’t go without some style, they take inspiration from the fairings of MotoGP motorcycles.
Each of the 26 units for the Pirelli 44 | Ducati Edition gets a commemorative plaque and a customizable number plate, too. The first one rolls off the production line in a few months.

The Sacs Marine, Ducati, and Pirelli teams hint at more initiatives to come. In the meantime, the partnership has them focused on the near future. “I have always loved anything that goes fast, in all its forms, and that’s exactly why this project excites me so much,” says Claudio Domenicali, Ducati Motor Holding’s CEO. Having previously collaborated with Ducati, Nicola Antonelli, SACS Marine’s chief growth officer, says he’s enjoying it once again. “We aimed to create a boat capable of maximizing the sense of involvement and driving pleasure,” he explains. “The Pirelli 44 | Ducati Edition is able to evoke a sense of excitement even before the engines are started.”
