Support yachts are growing in popularity in large part due to owners realizing their main yacht need not carry all the toys. In fact, they can have even larger toys, and more rugged ones, aboard a support vessel. Some owners still, though, want the support craft to match the mothership. Lynx Yachts created the Lynx XYT 34 Plus and 34 Sport with these concepts in mind. The Plus is for buyers who want something prettier, while the Sport is for those who want rough-and-rugged pursuits.
Both versions of the yacht measure 111 feet (33.8 meters), with a beam of 29 feet (8.85 meters). Each is entirely steel, too, meeting RINA classification standards. In addition, both have 1,561-square feet (145 square meters) of open deck space for chase boats, RIBs, PWCs, a submarine, and more, along with their launching crane. Finally, both the Lynx XYT 34 Plus and Sport have three double crew cabins and a crew mess. The differences between the models come in the details.
For the Lynx XYT Plus, for instance, the paint scheme matches the primary megayacht, while teak decking lends a prettier air, too. Plus, you get a sliding-glass-fronted gym—or massage/spa area, or beach club, just off the elongated swim platform. Encompassing 667 square feet (62 square meters), it offers plenty of space you can personalize. Regardless of your ideas, you can also have loose sun lounges on the swim platform, making the Plus project an ideal platform for enjoying a leisurely afternoon. To make your crew’s job easier, they have a dedicated laundry room, as well as a provisioning room with a refrigerator and freezer, below decks.
As for the Lynx XYT 34 Sport, take special note of the red knuckle-boom crane just aft of the superstructure. This conveys the vessel’s more rugged-and-ready purpose. It can hoist some hefty craft, extending out more than 37 feet (11.4 meters). The transom, meanwhile, holds even more space for inflatable toys, scuba gear, and small craft like canoes and kayaks. Lastly, nonskid decking means no fuss.
