Despite having delivered 11 megayachts in the Numarine 26XP series so far, the Numarine team did something different for hull number 12, thanks to customers from Turkey. The new launch not only features solar panels, but also has a power package pledging whisper-quiet enjoyment onboard.
The 84-footer (25.68-meter), with a beam of nearly 22 feet (6.6 meters), is the latest explorer-style, long-range motoryacht in the series. (The series premiered in 2018.) While she still bears strong resemblance to her predecessors, she has a few custom-requested features. For instance, the owners wanted a hardtop, which is carbon fiber, to provide some shade on the flying bridge. Additionally, about 479 square feet (44.5 square meters) of solar panels sit atop this structure. This feeds lithium batteries that replace one of the two traditional diesel gensets you would expect to find. “The owners are aiming to operate her fully functioning without any generator power during the day,” explains Omer Malaz, Numarine’s founder and chairman. In fact, extra batteries carry the hotel load. According to Numarine, the solar panels can delivery about 7,530 watts at peak.
Additionally, a benefit of battery power instead of a second genset is near-silent operations. This supplements the steps that Numarine already took. For instance, the shipyard regularly partners with Silent Line to reduce sound and vibration. Therefore, the owners and guests can better enjoy the sound of the sea when they are at the reported cruising speed of 9 knots. Since this is a displacement-hull version of the Numarine 26XP series, range should be 3,000 nautical miles at 8 knots. Top end is 13.5 knots with the twin 560-hp MANs. (Higher speeds come from a semi-displacement version.)
Those voyages are possible with a small crowd. The megayacht has four guest staterooms below decks, the traditional configuration. Naturally, the master suite sits amidships, plus it includes a study area. The other two staterooms are two twins and two VIPs.
The owners worked with Can Yalman for the interior layout and overall styling, a longtime collaborator for Numarine. While the saloon brings the outside in via sliding-open glass, the owners likely especially look forward to spending time on the big flying bridge. Spanning 592 square feet (55 square meters) in total, it’s ideal for dining, sunning, and watching horizons come into sight. Furthermore, they can stow their 11’5″ (3.5-meter) tender up here, aft.
The two-and-a-half-deck megayacht should be in her owners’ hands for the summer cruising season.
