Count a European customer among the fans of Extra Yachts’ crossover series. The client recently signed a contract for an X76 Loft, a twist on the smallest project available in the series.
The crossover models, which the builder introduced in 2018, all bear an X designation. Besides this entry-level project, the lineup includes the X86 and X99. Like the larger megayachts, the X76 Loft features styling, naval architecture, and interior design all by Palumbo Superyachts, which is Extra Yachts’ parent company, as well as Guida Design. At 76’8” (23.4 meters) LOA, the yacht has abundant alfresco space aft, since the superstructure sits farther forward. That space spreads across three terraced levels, too. Altogether, cruisers get 538 square feet (50 square meters) of lounging, dining, and sunning areas here, looking and feeling more connected to the open water.
The interior of the standard X76 keeps the emphasis on a casual, comfortable lifestyle, too. Since dining takes place outside, the galley is just inside, with a retractable window for serving and chatting with the chef. Below decks, meanwhile, all staterooms, including the master, enjoy privacy from the above-decks activity.
The reason Extra Yachts considers this particular contract an X76 Loft is because the client has requested several configuration changes. For instance, the helm is now enclosed, rather than open to the rest of the main deck’s interior. This provides privacy for the owner’s party of eight as well as the captain. Additionally, the crew has a dedicated passageway to port of the helm to reach their accommodations. And, finally, for convenience, a day head is aft by the open terraced areas.
While the X76 Loft will enjoy swift, economical cruising with a Volvo Penta IPS system, photovoltaic panels will reduce fuel use further, powering other systems so that they rely less on gensets. Expect a top speed of 21 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.
Extra Yachts says this contract brings the total of delivered and under-construction crossovers to 10.
