Codecasa Shipyards has what you might consider a small superyacht in development, an 85-footer (26-meter). However, her performance arguably makes her larger than life. The Falco 24 should see a top speed of 40 knots.
The Falco 24 project features design by Studio Bacigalupo, whose head is Andrea Bacigalupo. He’s penned the lines of nearly 200 yachts and megayachts to date. In fact, he’s worked with Codecasa before, specifically on the Codecasa 50s. This was an open-style motoryacht of 164 feet (50 meters), capable of 28 knots. Bacigalupo additionally has joined forces with yacht builders like Leopard and ISA Yachts. In all of these cases, the projects called for swift turns of speed, just like the Falco 24 does.
The Codecasa Falco 24 will rely on a pair of twin 1,920-hp MTU engines and of course a planing hull design to hit her anticipated 40-knot max end. They’ll couple with a pair of Arneson surface drives, too. Notably, neither Codecasa nor Bacigalupo intend the project to rely on a turbine for the speed boost.
As you might expect of a fast, modest superyacht, however, the Falco 24 has a shallow draft. It’s just 3’6” (1.1 meters). Therefore, American owners in particular who enjoy hitting a few Bahamian islands in a day, or traveling to and from the Bahamas from South Florida in a day, certainly are potential clients. The yacht’s maximum range of 450 nautical miles makes these and other trips possible.
Since the project is an open yacht, the emphasis is on the alfresco space. A healthy-size sunpad dominates the aft deck. Seating and dining areas are just forward. If the weather isn’t cooperative, owners and guests can head below and dine here instead. Amid the rest of the 21’3” (6.5-meter) beam, you’ll find three staterooms, including the master, forward, and the galley and a crew cabin aft.
