Ivan Erdevicki, the founder of ER Yacht Design, is thrilled to be working with an avid cruiser who intends to continuously cruise the world. The client requested what the designer considers “a true expedition vessel.” She’s a custom megayacht equally capable of polar and tropical explorations. The project, ER65, starts construction at RMK Marine later this year, for a 2025 delivery. “This is the kind of project that a yacht designer waits for all his life,” Erdevicki enthuses.
The 213-foot (65-meter) megayacht is for ocean crossings on her own bottom as much as Med mooring. With a healthy volume of 1,374 gross tons, ER65 will meet Lloyds ice classification as well as Polar Code standards. In fact, she’ll be among the few yachts to meet the Polar Code Category B – Ice Class PC 6 requirements. Briefly, this includes being able to navigate in at least medium first-year ice conditions during the summer and autumn.

ER65 will incorporate further important technical features. Due to remote cruising, she’ll have a refueling station onboard for her helicopter. Additionally, she’ll have a hanger for toys, such as two custom 26-foot (8-meter) aluminum tenders and a sub. Hull doors to each side and telescopic cranes will allow launching and retrieving them. Hybrid propulsion will be onboard as well. RMK Marine is providing naval architecture and engineering via its yachting division. Notably, ER65 will be its flagship. Given the Turkish yard’s commercial division and its experience with large ships, including ice-classed ones, the team can rely on that know-how, too.
With a nearly 39-foot (11.85-meter) beam, the five-deck yacht will treat the owner and guests to a serene, simple ambience inside. Erdevicki’s studio is handling interior design for the 12 passengers and crew of 20. Amenities will include leisure areas like a sauna, a gym, a library, and of course a beach club. But, especially in light of remote cruising, they’ll also include a medical room.
