He was already a satisfied Sunreef customer, so when the owner of Gaya recently took delivery, he was even happier. The Sunreef 80 sailing superyacht satisfies his desires for more luxurious space to enjoy on more cruises.
The owner’s previous sailing yacht was a Sunreef 70 (a model no longer in production). Like a lot of cruisers, after a while, he sought something offering more space. Due to her catamaran design, from Sunreef Yachts’ in-house naval-architecture department, Gaya puts nearly 3,700 square feet (340 square meters) at his feet.
Of course, that space isn’t solely for him. Gaya has accommodations for eight overall. Whether enjoying the saloon (top) or the three guest cabins, which are within the yacht’s hulls, family and friends have a relaxing ambiance. Shades of greys, beiges, and blacks characterize furnishings, countertops, and wall treatments. Even the woods that Gaya’s owner selected pick up these colors. He wanted oak for soles and ebony for some cabinetry. In addition, the owner personally chose special features like a wine chiller and a coffee bar for the saloon. It’s impossible to overlook the 55-inch, retractable TV on centerline here, too.
The color combinations continue down into the guest staterooms, too. Three cabins suit overnight guests. The master suite (below), meanwhile, takes prominent position forward on the main deck. It’s a tradition for Sunreef Yachts, even ones a bit smaller than the Sunreef 80. One of the nicest benefits: waking up to wonderful views at anchor. A further benefit: spanning the nearly 38-foot (11.5-meter) beam.
When you own a superyacht—and a sailing superyacht, specifically—you don’t want to spend your day inside. Out on deck, Gaya gives the owner and guests plenty to enjoy. Dining at anchor takes place on the expansive aft deck, for instance, as well as up on the flying bridge. The catch of the day can get cooked on the flying bridge, if so desired, thanks to a grill. Sunbeds additionally await on Gaya’s flying bridge. Though, the bow lounge is sure to be popular as well, especially when the yacht is underway.
Gaya should look impressive underway, too. Featuring a navy-blue hull, silver superstructure, and black mast, she shows off a 2,185-square-foot (203-square-meter) mainsail.
