UPDATE, MAY 22, 2024: Just ahead of the intended launch, Giorgio Armani’s Admiral yacht project has sold. The new owner has requested several changes, so delivery has been pushed back to April 2025. A second hull is in build for launch around the same time.

Upwards of 650 guests got the first glimpses of Giorgio Armani’s Admiral yacht at The Italian Sea Group this weekend. The closer looks at the exterior styling and interior design are the most detailed to date.
In fact, the looks come two years after Armani and The Italian Sea Group revealed their partnership. The duo announced a 236-footer (72-meter) in development, for delivery in 2024. Just a hint of a profile was available at the time, though. The more detailed design reveals a combination of sharp lines and soft curves along the superstructure, for instance. Simultaneously, the styling—from Armani himself—incorporates a simplicity that should stand the test of time, much like the renowned designer’s fashions. Still, it enhances the sense that this is a voluminous yacht, as you’d expect of her size.
Inside, Armani and his Armani Casa home-furnishings company are striving for understated luxury. Interestingly, they’re blending bold and soothing elements, along with subdued and energetic colors, to achieve this. Overall, the ambience should invite the owners (the yacht is under contract) to unwind. Naturally, Armani’s Admiral yacht design takes advantage of big panes of glass to bring the outside in, too. Sliding panels will let the owners change the mood and the amount of light when they wish.
Despite glimpses at a superyacht spa, sundeck, and beach club, there still are no details on the number of staterooms onboard. It may not be long before they are public, however. Armani’s Admiral yacht project will see completion next year by summertime.
Giovanni Costantino, founder and CEO of The Italian Sea Group, considers the superyacht “a stylistic benchmark.” He adds, “Giorgio Armani is synonymous with timeless elegance and sophistication, and his stylistic vision has also increased our stylistic sensitivity.”
Armani himself is enjoying the collaborative process. In fact, he notes that the sea is one of his greatest passions, just like design. He previously commissioned two personal yachts, Mariù and Maìn. “This highly stimulating project has allowed me to create customized spaces with Armani Casa—like made-to-measure clothing—with the same craftsmanship applied to the choice of materials, details, and production,” he explains.
In related news, back in 2021, the shipyard hinted that more yachts might follow. It now confirms that the renowned fashion designer is collaborating on yet another same-size superyacht with its team. That second hull, whose looks remain under wraps, is under construction for delivery in 2025. Notably, both hulls are under the project management of IYC, which further sold them to their respective owners.
