A yacht of nearly 260 feet (78.75 meters) can’t emulate a race car’s performance, but she can follow its style. Messerschmitt Yachts conceived the MTT-Shield superyacht concept, featuring a Nobiskrug-engineered hull, as an oceangoing “long bonnet racing car.”
The extended bow isn’t just for looks. Instead, it has practical purposes. Firstly, it’s one of three arrival areas aboard the yacht. A helipad welcomes the owners and special VIPs. Interestingly, wide stairways are to each side, leading to a tucked-away lounging area, just forward of the wheelhouse. It’s a nice way to relax with a drink upon arrival—or prepare for heading ashore via the helicopter. Secondly, the long bow holds the healthy-size tender garage. A plethora of toys can go in here. Messerschmitt Yachts has already planned for a RIB, two Sea-Doo PWCs, a 33-foot (10-meter) primary tender, and the rescue boat. Of course, smaller toys and gear can stow away, too.
The MTT-Shield superyacht concept has special surprises in store as well. For instance, the primary entrance welcomes guests in grand style. A wide, hydraulically extendable glass entryway off the swim platform leads them into the beach club bar area. After enjoying cooling drinks, they can take stairs up to the main deck. Yet another surprise, sliding glass doors open up not just the main saloon, but also the skylounge. Additionally, certain VIPs get a biridge-deck stateroom aboard the MTT-Shield superyacht concept. (Four more guest staterooms and the remaining VIP are all below decks.)
Whether for private journeys or for charter usage, the design embraces in-demand luxury amenities. So, for example, the beach club has a spa with a hot tub, on center with a fold-down balcony opposite. This way, guests can enjoy the views while still retaining privacy. The spa further has a massage area and a hammam/sauna, plus a plunge pool. Up on the main deck, meanwhile, the MTT-Shield superyacht concept puts a bar in proximity to the saloon and dining area, augmenting the social feel. Farther forward on the main deck, the owners’ suite sits off a private foyer. The sleeping area spans the full beam,
Further with an elevator connecting the decks, 17 crewmembers plus the captain, and abundant alfresco space, the design is capable of construction and tailoring to your desires.
