Azimut has a new solution to continue eliminating physical barriers between cruisers and the surrounding natural environment. The Azimut Grande 30M yacht not only has an extra-long upper deck, but also what the builder considers a Glass House with fully disappearing windows.
Joining a series that includes the Azimut Grande 26M and Azimut Grande 36M, this mid-range model puts a twist on the 36M’s upper deck. Specifically, Azimut calls the deck the Infinity Skydeck, since it’s one level from the aft-most end all the way to the lounging area forward of the skylounge. The twist is even more opening glass. The larger Azimut Grande has slide-open glass on three sides, whereas the Azimut Grande 30M yacht has a so-called Glass House. Essentially, the entire skylounge is glass, with the floor-to-ceiling sections on three sides all sliding open. You therefore can turn the skylounge into “just” a shaded extension of the alfresco aft area. The duo look and feel more connected, too, to the infinity pool perched fully forward.
Azimut joined forces with designer Alberto Mancini to take the Infinity Skydeck to new extremes. Similarly, the shipyard and designer improved the Deck2Deck Terrace, the transformable aft deck and garage. Teak covers the face of the garage, with the hatch capable of opening level with the main aft deck. The goal is to create an even longer cockpit, one where it gains a sort of balcony.

For the interiors, Azimut has partnered with m2atelier, again to foster a stronger connection to the natural environment. Woods and other décor materials will be sustainable, the shipyard says, plus the floor-to-ceiling windows bring in more sunlight. Interestingly, light spills down from the upper deck to the main deck, too. It does so through the central stairway—which itself prioritizes light with floating treads.
Although the builder isn’t revealing specifics on the engine configuration just yet, it does say pod propulsion will be onboard. The Azimut Grande 30M yacht further will use carbon fiber extensively to reduce weight and therefore fuel burn. Combined with a better hull design, these factors should result in 20 to 30 percent lower emissions than comparable hard-chine, diesel-engine-equipped yachts, the yard asserts.
Hull number one of the Azimut Grande 30M yacht series debuts in 2025.

In related news, Azimut is teasing yet another new project, the Seadeck 9 (above). Although it hasn’t disclosed full details, the LOA should be in the vicinity of 90 feet (27.4 meters), based on the nomenclature and LOAs of smaller yachts in the Seadeck series. Overall, the series emphasizes hybrid propulsion to help customers reduce carbon-dioxide emissions. Simultaneously, the design features a cascading aft deck, which Azimut calls the Fun Island. Spread over three levels, it includes a pool with sunbeds that can slide together to cover it. It also has a big integral swim platform. More information should become available when the first Seadeck series yacht, the Seadeck 6, nears launch.
