Williams Jet Tenders has manufactured and delivered upwards of 12,000 tenders to customers around the world since the early 2000s. Commemorating its two decades in business, the company is debuting several updates to a model popular with megayachts, the SportJet 460 tender.
Represented in the United States by MarineMax, Williams Jet Tenders makes this particular RIB specifically for megayachts exceeding 82 feet (25 meters). LOA: 15 feet (4.59 meters). With seating for up to six passengers, the tender can handle either traditional to-and-from shore trips or thrill rides. Waterskiing is yet another possibility. In fact, according to the company, the SportJet 460 tender tops out at 48 mph (77 kph). Part of the performance is courtesy of a 170-hp BRP Rotax engine.
Ever since the SportJet 460 tender initially launched about a decade ago, the standard features have included a removable ski pole and rear-facing seating to spot a water-skier. Additionally, four lifting points, a towing eye, neoprene/fabric grab handles, a swim ladder, and under-seat stowage have also been standard. So has a folding helm console. Among the upgrades, Williams Jet Tenders has added an aft footrest. A sturdy step pad is a new option to make boarding easier, too. Related to this, another new—and standard—feature is better boarding-pole placement. Your captain and crew, meanwhile—or you, if you like driving—will appreciate enhanced helm ergonomics and a redesigned dash.
Because customers have appreciated them over the years, the options remain the same. Therefore, you can choose among a dozen tube color schemes, plus further colors for upholstery. Of course, your yacht’s name can be embroidered in the upholstery as well. Finally, accessories still include a bimini, LEDs for the deck, and underwater lights.
“Over a decade after the launch of our original model, we’re excited to showcase our latest innovations while evoking a unique sense of nostalgia with this thrilling tender,” says Matthew Hornsby, the company’s commercial director.
Look for the SportJet 460 tender at next month’s Cannes Yachting Festival. Williams Jet Tenders further will display the limited-edition TurboJet 325. With seating for four, it’s compact enough for tight tender garages and sitting on swim platforms. It also has a catalytic converter for the engine. The boat’s custom color scheme celebrates the company’s 20th anniversary, too.
