Less than two weeks from now, the annual Monaco Yacht Show opens its gates to visitors from around the world. The event, running from September 25 through September 28, is the largest gathering of superyachts worldwide, many making their global debut. Although motoryachts dominate, a few Monaco Yacht Show sailing-yacht debuts are taking place. They’re additionally worthy of booking tours, for a few reasons.
Dreamcatcher, from Nautor Swan
DreamCatcher (top) is hull number one in the Swan 88 series. Nautor Swan considers the series “a pure cruiser with a racer soul.” She has superyacht luxuries for an owners’ party of 10, for instance. Options like a telescopic vs. performance keel will appeal to each type of buyer. DreamCatcher has a reduced-draft keel since she’s a cruiser. She further has a lounging-oriented cockpit, vs. the option of a racing cockpit. Most notably, though, she’s the Finnish shipyard’s first yacht with hybrid propulsion. In fact, Nautor Swan created the Swan 88 series purposely to rely on Torqeedo’s electric motors. They permit owners to reposition over long distances emission-free, among other benefits.
Yyachts Y8, from YYachts
The German-built Y8 yacht is actually two Monaco Yacht Show sailing-yacht debuts in one. Firstly, she represents the first time the shipyard, YYachts, is exhibiting at the event. Secondly, this is hull number one in a series, seeing completing a few months ago. Overall, the Y8 is for owners who want to have a small crew, for simpler operations. Simultaneously, the series is for owners who want to take their families on fast-passage cruises.
Wallywind 110, from Wally Yachts
One of the most exciting Monaco Yacht Show sailing-yacht debuts comes from Wally Yachts. The metallic-blue hull of this performance-cruiser superyacht will be impossible to miss. Wally has long prioritized the spirit of racing in all of its models. Owners of the wallywind 110 aren’t necessarily all going to race, of course. But, they’ll thrill to her performance edge. Eight people in the owners’ party, meanwhile, can indulge in pleasure-focused features like sunbeds and lounges on deck.
Besides booking onboard appointments, you can engage with some of the world’s best sailing-yacht designers at the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub. This dedicated exhibit area is back for another year, for designers to reveal some of their best forward-thinking projects. It further allows visitors to experience cool immersive technologies and learn about energy-efficient, environmentally responsible solutions.
Speaking of environmentally responsible, the Sustainability Hub is back again, too. This exhibit area allows you to discover true practical solutions, from non-toxic cleaners to propulsion. All exhibitors here are screened by the non-profit Water Revolution Foundation to ensure their products are effective.
