The IGY Ibiza Marina officially opened this week, with more slips for more of the largest yachts in the world.
IGY Marinas, which acquired the property in the Balearic Islands in 2022, announced redevelopment plans last year. At the time, the basin welcomed yachts starting at 65 feet (20 meters), to a maximum of 360 feet (110 meters). Notably, this made it among the few marinas in the region with quayside dockage for large yachts. Expanding options for them was a strategic move.
Currently, the 27 superyacht berths accommodate yachts to 492 feet (150 meters). Just as the case was prior to the redevelopment, no beam restrictions exist. Additionally, the basin is quite deep, with a draft of nearly 28 feet (8.5 meters).

While the berthing access is important, owners, guests, and crews have an abundance of places nearby to explore. For instance, Ibiza’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its streets and alleys wind the same way they did in medieval times. Some archaeological sites date back to B.C. times. Of course, Ibiza is famous for its nightlife, plus shopping and dining.
All of this is why IGY Marinas has planned IGY Ibiza Marina as a year-round destination, instead of a seasonal destination like so many other Med facilities. The company partnered with a few hospitality and maritime firms for the redevelopment. One of them was Ocean Capital Partners. When the redevelopment was announced, Ocean Capital Partners CEO, José Luis Almazán, noted that the image change wouldn’t happen overnight. “But we are confident that with the effort and collaboration of all, we will turn this project into a model of port-city integration,” he stated.
Steve English, IGY Marinas’ CEO, agreed. “Ibiza is a true yachting paradise, fitting perfectly with our goal of connecting the world’s most iconic nautical destinations,” he asserted.
