While every yacht is significant to the shipyard that built her, Tyee holds two particular distinctions for Horizon Yachts. This FD90 Skyline is both the 20th hull in its Fast Displacement (FD) Series, and the first FD megayacht for clients in Southeast Asia.
These facts are further notable considering that the owner is a first-time Horizon customer. Additionally, the first Skyline version of the FD series, christened Skyline by her American owners, saw delivery in 2018.
Since Tyee is a Skyline design, she has a skylounge, rather than an open bridge, with no walls between the helm and relaxation area. However, the captain can close off the helm when needed. Friends and family can then continue to enjoy the games table, made of wenge wood, and conversations while gathered along the large U-shape settee just opposite of it. If the weather is nice, the sliding doors to the boat deck just outside can remain open. When the tender is in the water, sun lounges can go on deck.
Tyee has a similar stateroom configuration to other FD90 Skyline deliveries. Therefore, the master occupies the full beam forward (23’3”, or 7.1 meters), while four guest cabins go below decks. One of the guest staterooms is a convertible twin with an additional Pullman berth. The owner of Tyee, meanwhile, requested an inviting leather-covered chaise lounge right by the picture window to port. If business duties call, the desk (doubling as the vanity) across the room takes care of things.
Overall, white-ash soles pair with white-oak and walnut throughout the understated decor of the megayacht. In fact, walnut is the surface of choice for the stairs, with LED treads, leading up to the skylounge. White leather wraps settees, poufs, and other seating, too, from the saloon to the rest of the lounging spaces.
