It’s no surprise that the owner of the Bilgin yacht Camila has his sights set on the Med for the next several months. The shipyard’s location in Turkey makes it easy. The 164-footer (50-meter) has been in his hands for less than a month, and he’s equally looking forward to bringing her stateside.
The owner was so proud at the launch ceremony in February, in fact, that he declared, “She will undoubtedly turn heads.” Subtle tone differences between her steel hull and aluminum superstructure will undoubtedly catch attention, for instance. So, too, will sporty lines with some curve appeal. Even though she’s part of the Bilgin 163 yacht series, she actually has her own hull design. Unique Yacht Design, responsible for the series, modified it to allow 20 percent larger usable areas that similar-sized superyachts.

If the exterior turns heads, then certainly the interior will, too. The owner “was heavily involved with her design process with Hot Lab,” notes Berkay Yılmaz, Bilgin Yachts’ commercial director. He especially notes how even the tiniest details were entirely customized. Enrico Lumini, Hot Lab’s partner and head of design, confirms. He says the Bilgin yacht Camila “blends modern aesthetics with timeless style.” High levels of polish, poise, and elegance were important to the owner, he adds. The strong involvement and clear vision translate to areas that are “both inviting and visually stunning,” Lumini asserts.
Some of the highlights aboard the Bilgin yacht Camila are striking. For instance, a custom chandelier in the main foyer is nearly 20 feet (6 meters) in length. Hundreds of glass leaves are part of it, too. More glass and polished metal in the lobby reflects light, allowiing guests to feel a heightened sense of airiness. In the formal dining area, meanwhile, the tabletop is onyx, at once a functional piece of furniture yet also arguably art.

Camila will likely voyage to U.S. shores towards the fall or winter.
