While most of us yachting journalists focus on new boats, with good reason, we’d be remiss not to take notice of brokerage boats every now and then.
Arms Reach is a case in point. Displayed at the just-concluded Yacht & Brokerage Show, this 130-foot Westport is going on five years old, but you’d never know it to look at her. Her interior is meticulously kept up and looks as if the Washington State yard’s craftsmen just stepped off of her a few weeks ago. Combine that with new bottom paint and redone props and shafts, along with newly installed WiFi throughout, and Arms Reach can give some other brokerage megayachts a run for their money.
According to Mack Carroll at Atlantic Yacht & Ship, who has her listed for sale for just under $11 million, she’s been a one-owner boat since launch. (An owner with a sense of humor, too: Among other toys, the yacht tows a 31-foot Jupiter christened Short Arm.) Carroll, who also sold the yacht to the owner in 2004, says Arms Reach is not just a good yacht for taking upwards of 10 guests out on private trips or charter, but also “a comfortable boat for crew.” In fact, the crew’s quarters were among the things that impressed the owner when he was looking for a yacht to buy.
To see why I was impressed with how beautifully Arms Reach has been maintained, come along on this video tour I put together.
