Nautici Design may only be a year old, but its partners have naval architecture and engineering experience with passenger ships and pleasureboats alike. In fact, the team, based in Palma de Mallorca, is working on the conversion of a 25-meter (82-foot) passenger ship into a superyacht for 12 guests.
To further showcase its abilities, Nautici Design is shopping two new designs around, the ND85 and ND65. While it hasn’t revealed much about the ND85, measuring 85 meters (279 feet), the design team does envision an atrium rising up several decks. This, plus other undisclosed elements, will give the sense of more volume. A related goal is to make owners rethink the way decks are laid out and interiors are arranged.
The ND65, shown here, seems to have a similar goal of making owners rethink traditional design concepts. It starts with the modern, even edgy, exterior lines. The 65-meter (213-foot) megayacht devotes the entire upper deck to the owner, another unexpected element. In fact, the two-level master suite is on this deck; Nautici Design calls it a royal suite and graces it with panoramic views. Five guest cabins, all arranged as VIP staterooms, plus nine crew cabins are also aboard. Saloons, dining areas, and other gathering spaces will all be larger than usual, too.
Nautici Design is further exploring designs that will incorporate environmentally friendly systems. Stay tuned.
