As impressive as megayachts are in the water, they look even larger when hauled out and you can get a close-up look at their entire underbody structure. Visitors to this coming January’s London Boat Show might get a chance to do just that when Princess Yachts unveils its 32M, not only its largest megayacht to date but also the largest yacht ever exhibited inside London’s Excel facilities.
The 32-meter (105-foot) yacht marks Princess’ entry into the 100-foot-plus category. The days preceding the show should prove to be exciting not just because of that, but because it’ll be tricky to actually get her into the exhibition hall. Apparently her 7.11-meter (23’4”) beam just barely fits through the loading doors.
While the standard layout for the 32M features four staterooms, the model debuting at the show includes the optional five-cabin layout. Specifically, there’s an on-deck master with three double staterooms and a twin stateroom all below decks. (In the four-room configuration, two of the double staterooms are replaced by a full-beam VIP.) In either layout, the owner and guests can enjoy a fold-down balcony off the starboard side of the saloon, with access courtesy of sliding glass doors. The flying bridge gives everyone extra space to enjoy alfresco relaxation or dining, and the hardtop provides welcome shade when wanted.
Princess is confident that its entry into the 100-foot-plus market will be met with success. It will soon begin construction on the 40M, a 130-footer, which will become its flagship. In addition, it received government approval to renovate its construction site to add a new shed devoted solely to this segment.
