Six months after debuting its largest megayacht to date, the 32M, Princess Yachts has completed the hull for its new flagship, the Princess 40M.
The Princess 40M is named for her LOA: 40 meters (132 feet). The photos here show the hull entering a production shed that Princess Yachts created specifically for the series. When the full megayacht is delivered in early 2012, she’ll feature accommodations for 12 and be christened Imperial Princess. Highlights include a main-deck master suite, accommodations for eight crewmembers, and a trideck layout.
Princess Yachts employed resin-infusion technology for the composite hull, a technique that keeps weight down and increases strength. It also releases far less emissions than open-layup techniques. Related to this, Princess Yachts says that in 2010 it became the first UK- and Europe-based yacht builder to meet ISO 14001 standards, which govern environmental impact. Furthermore, this month Princess Yachts became the first UK yacht builder to achieve RINA Green Plus notation for its V Class and Flybridge range of yachts. RINA Green Plus has strict standards governing everything contributing to a yacht’s construction and operation, from materials used to engine emissions.

It could be, but judging from some of Sealine’s press releases, it appears that the company met the standards in 2011.
