Repeat clients of Trinity Yachts saw their newest Lady Linda slip into the water outside its Gulfport, Mississippi facility this week.
At 187 feet (57 meters), this Lady Linda is the owners’ largest same-named megayacht to date. (They did previously commission a 197-footer from Lürssen, named Linda Lou.) The all-aluminum megayacht is meant to cruise skinnier-water areas like the Bahamas, so draft is eight feet (2.4 meters). To get to those, and other, destinations readily, Lady Linda features twin 3,384-hp Caterpillar engines, providing a reported 20-knot top end. With speed dialed down to 10 knots, Lady Linda should see a range in excess of 4,300 nautical miles.
While work continues on Lady Linda’s interior, the owners’ selection of designer Evan K. Marshall should ensure it’s lush. Among the highlights is a large, C-shaped bar taking center stage in the full-beam skylounge. It’s complemented by a circular seating area fully aft, looking out over an alfresco dining area. The owners also wanted a gym, which is situated just aft of the pilothouse. The captain’s cabin, in turn, is below on the main deck, tucked to port of the master suite’s study. The cabin has direct access to the wheelhouse via a dedicated crew staircase.
While four guest staterooms are below decks, should extra friends or family come aboard, the gym can convert to a cabin. This permits Lady Linda to accommodate 12 people, who can arrive by tender or helicopter, given a touch-and-go helipad. Twelve to 14 crewmembers are housed aboard as well.
Lady Linda should be handed over in January.
