Few yacht yards these days are foregoing the opportunity to tout concept designs, especially ones with novel arrangements or new technology. CMN is embracing both philosophies, presenting this 214-foot (65.2-meter) megayacht, called Project One.
CMN’s Project One, designed entirely in-house, devotes more interior space to the owner and guests than comparably sized yachts. A major way this is accomplished is by spreading all staterooms across both the main deck and the upper deck, rather than mostly below decks. More of the megayacht’s 38’7” (11.8-meter) beam can be enjoyed this way. Specifically, two VIP suites and the master suite are on the upper deck, with the owner’s office situated between the guests’ area and the master. The four remaining guest staterooms are forward of the saloon and dining area on the main deck. All benefit from good-size windows.
Everyone will benefit from Project One having a smaller carbon footprint, too, if the owner so wishes. While CMN specifies twin Caterpillar or MTU diesels as standard, for a 16-knot top speed, hybrid power is available. The French yard has tank tested the slender steel hull design, with a super-sharp vertical bow, and says 6 knots is possible on electric power.
Other features of Project One include touch-and-go helicopter operations at the bow. Beneath the helipad, there’s a tender garage for two 26-foot (8-meter) craft, likely a limo tender and a sportboat. The owner has a private alfresco area with a hot tub, while two fold-down terraces below decks are for all to use. They’re in proximity to a sauna, hammam, and massage area. The owner and guests should also appreciate the indoor-outdoor nature of the saloon and dining area, when the aft-deck doors are kept open. But chances are they’ll prefer taking meals on the sundeck, where an extra dining room boasts the best views.
